Hello, I’m Doctor Jerry Basford.

I moved to Sandy, Utah in 1998 with my family to fill the Senior Financial Analyst position in Administrative Services at the University of Utah. After nearly five years in the Vice President of Administrative Service’s office I decided to broaden my professional wings and accepted the position of Assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs. Two years later I was offered and accepted the position of Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs-Business and Auxiliary Services eventually becoming the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs. That is my current administrative position at the “U”. In addition I have been an adjunct instructor, teaching Personal Finance (FINAN 1200) since 1999, and Family and Consumer Issues (FCS 3450) since 2010. I also teach FINAN 1200 online as well as an occassional class for Continuing Education in Accounting and Finance.

My hobbies include riding Harleys, fishing, reading, and watching sporting events and concerts. I was a fast pitch softball umpire for 20 years and umpired in two national tournaments.

My wife and I have seven children and five grand children.
