Outdoor Recreation Program Hours
ORP is open Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 6:00 pm

During ski season (December 1--March 31) we are open on Fridays until 7:00 PM.

If the ORP is closed due to one of the above listed Holidays, the equipment rental for that day is free.  For example for the President's Day Holiday, you can pick up your equipment on Friday, return it to us on the morning of Tuesday, Feb. 21, and only pay the 2-3 day rental rate. Reservations can be made the Monday of each week for that week's use.

Rental Policies

Current University of Utah students and faculty and staff with current Campus Recreation Services (CRS) memberships are eligible to rent equipment at the published Member rates.

Non-Members may rent equipment at the Non-Member rates. Non-Members present a Drivers Liscens and must pay with a Visa, Mastercard or Discover Card to secure an equipment deposit.

Reservations

Equipment may be reserved beginning Monday of the week of check-out by paying the full rental fee.

Boat reservations for any time during the river running season may be made beginning on the last Monday of March. To reserve boats or bikes two days rental fee must be paid. Any balance is due one week prior to equipment pick-up.

Reservations are possible only for rental periods of two days or longer. Reservations for one day are not possible.

Cancellation Policy

Cancelled reservations are subject to a 10% cancellation fee. A shop credit can be issued for 100% of the amount paid. Boats and bikes have a more specific cancellation policy. See the supplemental contract for details.

Return Policies

Equipment is due by 5:00 pm on the return date. Equipment returned late will be charged a $2.00 service fee plus the additional day rental fee for each day late.

Equipment returned soiled or damaged will be assessed a cleaning and/or damage fee. It is the responsibility of the renter to check the condition of the equipment at the time of check out.

* Note: In compliance with University of Utah policies, no firearms, alcohol or controlled substances are permitted on Cooperative Adventure Trips.
