2009 Chinese Students and Scholars New Year Celebration
Happy Niu Year from CSSAUU
Thank you very much for coming to tonight's Chinese New Year Party. I'm totally confident that you had a wonderful and joyful night and had brought back home New Year's fortune and best wishes from us!
We were glad to greet the first snow of the year of ox with you; we were even more impressed to see so many of you coming and joining us till the end on the first day of the new year-- that was about 150 of us! So impressive! I hope you felt the warmth of home and the happiness of being with a lot of friends, old and new.
I would like to give my appreciation to all CSSAUU board members again. Thanks for all your hard work and genius ideas which made this party surprisingly successful and FUNNY! Special thanks to our lighting director Lin LI, photographer Yang CHEN, and our sponsors- WTF Foundation and the Confucius Institute.
At last, we wish all of you a very happy and lucky Niu Year, with Niu job, Niu publication, and Niu life! Niu Niu Niu!

--Can't wait to celebrate the New Year?
--Can't wait to see what kind of party we got for you?
--Miss CSSAUU?
--Ready for changes or something special? (Yes, we can!)
OK! Secrets are out!
This year, there are two major parts of Spring Festival celebration, two completely different types of party ready for you!
A: Celebration with Excellent Performances
If you want to see some really really good and perfessional performances, we've got TianJin Cathay Future Children's Art Troupe here for you!
They'll be performing on Saturday Jan 24th at 7:00pm at Cottonwood High School. Please refer to the attached fly for this event.
Thanks to The Confucius Institute of Univ. of Utah and Utah Chinese New Year Celebration Committee for inviting the art troupe and organizing this great event!
(We need some volunteers, please reply back if you would like to help.)
B: Party with Food, Games, Fun, Prizes, and Performances from CSSAUU
Yes! Food! Right, we mean DINNER! Chinese dinner on New Year's Eve (or Day in China)!
Did I mention you'll be having New Year Eve's dinner with your family here?-- Us, CSSAUU, your really big family here!
* Are you single?( Don't worry, you'll find your true love, maybe in our party (*^__^*) )
* Is it only you and your spouse here? (Still can't feel the warmth of being with your whole family?)
* You don't have any plan or friends to get-together on this important night? (Hey, you got us!)
* Or you just don't want to cook or have no idea what to eat? (well, lazy you...)
* Do you feel that you have a young heart and you would like to have some real fun?
If you agree with any of the above questions, you are the one we prepare this party for!
** We have a few interesting games with prizes; we have short act and hot hip-hop dance; we have songs you'll enjoy; we have karaoke after the party or anytime if you would like to sing on stage and win prizes!
** One special thing, you'll be sitting in round tables and win prizes for your whole table! You'll need your tablemates' help!
** Bring your camera and DV 'coz you might want to record the moment you are the center of the stage!
Sounds fun, right? That's not all! We'll have a fashion show in the end, so get dressed and walk in the spot light like a supermodel!
Time: 6:00pm~ 8pm. Food will be served starting at 6:00pm sharp until it's gone.
(Sry there won't be dumplings.)
Location: Union Ballroom @ Univ. of Utah.
We would like to thank The Confucius Institute of Univ. of Utah for their support, and the below restaurants for providing food:
--Golden Phoenix Chinese Restaurant (1084 S State St)
--Hunan Garden Restaurant (2121 E 2100 S)
--Szechuan Garden (1275 E 8600 S)
In all, we highly suggest anyone who's seeking for performances to go to Jan 24's celebration; for those who wants to have fun, come to CSSAUU's party on Jan 25th.
SEE YOU THERE!
CSSAUU
P.S. Although it's not a crime if you leave right after dinner, we think that's not cool and respectful. Do stay for some fun and prizes. The party won't last long and you'll be glad you stayed.
