Introduction to Utah Hillel
Beit Hillel of Utah is the Utah affilliate of Hillel: The Foundation for Jewish Campus Life and is a project of the Utah Hillel Foundation. We serve as the campus organization for Jewish students and faculty in and near Salt Lake City (including Westminster College, Salt Lake Community College, BYU, and the other campuses in the Salt Lake-Provo area and the Utah system). Jews of all colors, stripes and persuasions are welcome, from the religious to the secular, the left to the right, the educated to the uneducated, and everyone between, on a basis of tolerance, pluralism and mutual respect, in pursuit of new and old ways of enriching the Jewish lives of the Utah campuses. Hillel at the University of Utah is an entirely volunteer organization with no paid staff. The quality and quantity of our activities are entirely dependent on the energy, enthusiasm and hard work of the students, staff, faculty and friends who join and participate. Hillel is what you make it -- so join us! To join us or be on our mailing list, please fill out our membership form or contact Utah Hillel. The U keeps no records of religious or ethnic affiliation; we can only reach you if we can find you. Currently we have about 95 Jewish students and 150 Jewish faculty on our mailing list. We've found that E-mail works best for most announcements. The 200 student and faculty Hillel members who are on our E-mail list may send messages to that list by writing to Hillel-announce@lists.utah.edu or send messages only to students to Hillel-students@lists.utah.edu (70 students & recent grads). For political debate, write to Hillel-politics@lists.utah.edu. To learn more, contact Utah Hillel. You are visitor number |
