Prof. Robert Mayer conducts research on consumer movements and consumer policy. His work on consumer movements focuses on the history, goals, tactics, and accomplishments of the movements both in the U.S. and in other countries. Dr. Mayer's policy evaluation research has covered topics related to consumer safety and warning labels, marketing claims and consumer information systems, deregulation in the airline and telecommunications industries, and public participation in government rule making. He is currently conducting research on consumer protection and privacy issues in electronic commerce and on the implications of genetic testing for consumers of life insurance. |
