| Oct. 26, 2004 -- The
George S. and Dolores Doré Eccles Foundation and Jerold and
JoAnn Ottley are the 2004 recipients of the University of Utah School
of Music Camerata Awards, and will be honored at a Concert Gala
on Friday, November 5, 2004 at 8 p.m. in Libby Gardner Hall.
The Gala will include performances by the School of Music’s
wind ensemble and choral groups. The program will feature distinctly
American musical selections, evoking the spirit of patriotism
and the American West.
Now in its fifth year, the Camerata Awards recognizes individuals
for their service to the School of Music through enhancing academic
excellence, building and providing community support or advancing
music at the University of Utah by sharing their time, talent
or resources.
The Florentine Camerata was a group of poets, artists and scholars
who are credited with the creation of opera.
