What is
Early Admission?
A
student with exceptional scholastic achievement (high school
GPA of 3.50 or above, ACT composite of at least 25) through
their junior year may be considered for early admission to
the University of Utah. Applicants for early admission should
have completed their junior year of high school. Students
should also arrange with the high school to have an official
transcript sent with the completed Eleventh Grade coursework
posted on it as soon as the transcript is available. Students
are admitted to the program at the beginning of fall semester
only. International students are not eligible to apply for
early admission.
Early
admission is designed for students who desire to leave high
school entirely after their junior year and attend the University
of Utah full time. Early admission students replace their
senior year of high school with their freshman year of college.
Students may still graduate with their high school class.
To ensure high school graduation, students should coordinate
and confirm the completion of applicable requirements with
their individual high schools.
What
are the requirements for Early Admission?
Applicants
are admitted as a University freshman in the regular baccalaureate
degree program at the beginning of the fall semester. Applicants
need to demonstrate an above-average high school record, a
GPA of 3.50 or above, and an ACT composite score of 25. They
must also demonstrate high levels of maturity and motivation.
How
does one apply?
