Internships and service-learning
classes give you the opportunity to apply class-based skills
and theories in a practical way.
Internships
are out-of-class experiences that relate to your major and/or
planned career goal. They provide a university-level learning
experience in a "real world" setting, allowing you to effectively
apply the knowledge you've gained in the classroom.
The
University ranks among the top tier of colleges offering service-learning
courses. Service learning creates the opportunity for students,
faculty and community partners to work together, applying
knowledge gained in the classroom to address the needs of
the community. Service-learning classes are designed to increase
the students' awareness of their citizenship in the community
through direct involvement in issues that affect society.
