2005 CASH SCHOLARSHIPS

The Utah Precision Marksmanship Society will award two $1,000 scholarships to outstanding students dedicated to developing into serious competitors in pistol marksmanship. The awards will be applied to tuition payments, one-half of the amount each semester of the 2005-2006 academic year.

The minimal qualifications are:

1. Someone who has previous training and experience in competition in pistol marksmanship.

2. A High School GPA of 3.0 or higher.

3. Must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student in good standing at the University of Utah.

4. Must maintain a 2.7 GPA or higher at the University of Utah or previous undergraduate institution.

5. Must be someone who will develop into a serious competitor; someone who is sufficiently interested in pistol marksmanship to put organized mental and physical effort into training and competition.

This scholarship will be awarded to two students, one male and one female provided comparably qualified applicants.

All applications must be postmarked no later than 30 April 2005. The Utah Precision Marksmanship Society's Scholarship committee will notify successful applicants by 1 June 2005. Upon successful completion of each semester, both academically and with respect to a training program agreed to by the recipient and the UPMS scholarship committee, each awardee shall be reimbursed for $500 of the semester’s tuition.
