Welcome to the new UUWC Web site!

The UUWC is a nonprofit organization operated exclusively for charitable, cultural and educational purposes. Its programs and activities bring together women with diverse interests and diverse roles in the University community to promote interest in and support for the University of Utah. The club offers scholarships to full-time upper-level undergraduate students, women preferred, studying at the University.

The University of Utah Women’s Club began in 1909 with 27 members. In 1959 on the 50th anniversary of the UUWC, a rose garden was established to honor past presidents of the club and to commemorate the UUWC’s activities. This rose garden is now located at the new Alumni House.

In 1933 a student loan fund was begun to honor women students for their achievements, and in 1982 the UUWC established its endowed scholarship fund.
The UUWC currently offers scholarships preferably to women in any academic discipline who are full time students in their junior or senior year. Applicants are evaluated based on the following criteria:

  1. Academic performance
  2. Participation in service, community and campus activities
  3. Individual non-academic activities
  4. Future goals and plans
The UUWC scholarship application form is available at the. Scholarship Office.
